$2 Million Seed Financing Up For Grabs Video Games
The Canadian Government with Telefilm Canada have established a fund to encourage Canadian game developers.

Montreallinks-based Telefilm, Ottawa's film financier, invited Canadian video game makers to compete for CAN$2 million in financing through a process entitled the Great Canadian Video Game Competition.

Video game producers Sherpa Games, Union Entertainment, Radical Entertainment, Ubisoft Montreal and Electronic Arts Montreal will be among existing industry players either sponsoring or mentoring emerging video game developers looking for Telefilm seed financing. Via Game Daily

This is a change in policy and funding was designed to develop a multi-platform approach to encourage homegrown video games from new and smaller local game developers.
