Alberta Leads Canada in Businesses With Employees
Filed in archive Human Resources on March 19, 2007
Growing businesses tend to hire and add employees to cope with growth.
This report doesn't specifically state the reason behind the growth in the number of businesses with employees in Alberta is so high.
On a year-over-year basis, the number of businesses with employees in Alberta in the fourth quarter of 2006 was 5.8% higher than in the same quarter of 2005, the largest gain among the provinces. It was followed by British Columbia (+4.5%) and Ontario (+3.1%). Via StatsCan
Oil is a big part of Alberta's economic growth but I would be really interested to see what type of businesses are adding employees - I bet they are service based businesses.
