Alberta Politicians Want More Tax Sources
Why is it every time Alberta starts to do well the politicians line up to take their turn at pulling more money from our pockets?

Where is their fiscal management and leadership? How much more in taxes are Canadians and Albertans expected to carry?
The report, endorsed by the province's towns, counties and big city mayors, includes a proposal to allow towns and cities to collect taxes on such items as tickets to sports events, the zoo, house sales, and car registrations. Via CBC

This is a bad idea for so many reasons but the best comes from the CBC:
The province has already promised municipalities an extra $1.4 billion in funding annually... Via CBC

So this is about turf, the right to tax, and trying to make their jobs easier. How about coming up with some creative ways to deliver more for less - just like every entrepreneur must to remain competitive - but then that would mean politicians that were accountable, talented, and visionary.

Oops, silly me. I forgot this is government, they add no value back to the economy.
