I would add something about attending to details.
1. What is the main product - service, tangible item? That an important key to if you are buying good will that can disappear with a new owner or a real customer base
2. What's the talent level in the business? have you actually measured them before buying to see if you have the staff needed to continue without starting anew?
3. Can you really love the business
4. Which of your personal skills can you deploly to run the business and which will you need to hire for?
5. Have you done any employee assessments to see if, where and how your new employees fit into your business plans?

Of course, I should talk... the other day someone told me he loved my Pittsburgh accent -- and I haven't lived there in 25 years!!! Just can't shake it, I guess.
