winner in Economics, going to Professor Edmund S. Phelps because he has been such a supporter of entrepreneurship. Jeff Cornwall, Belmont University makes an important observation:This is an important time to listen to the words of Professor Phelps. Our economy is more dependent on true free enterprise and the work of real entrepreneurs than it has been in over one hundred years. This is no time for us to embrace the kind of socialized entrepreneurship we see in much of Western Europe. Government should not be in the business of institutionalizing economic winners. It should, instead, be the protector of the economic newcomer entrepreneurs, who if we let them, will create our economic future. Via Entrepreneurial Mind
The most important point Jeff makes "Our economy is more dependent on true free enterprise and the work of real entrepreneurs than it has been in over one hundred years." and I agree.
We need entrepreneurs that can think original thoughts, create, and innovate because we have moved out of the information age into what I think will be the golden age of creativity.
We need entrepreneurs who are able to think for themselves and create things that create value. Not just playing the "new and improved" game but who is able to totally reinvent, create, and develop completely new approaches to the way business is done.
