1. Don't set targets too far down the road.
2. Keep the measurement tool simple.
3. Have your staff help create the measurement tools.
4. Measure only what the employee controls.
5. Give your employees access to the data.
Remember, you cannot improve what you do not track or measure. By putting standards in place you can track your employees performance against those standards.
Rather than have your employees running on their own agenda, priorities, and feelings - take control by setting standards and expectations then track their performance. Read the entire "How to track employee performance"
