I was doing some research for one of my Alberta clients and remembered that there were loan programs for Women Entrepreneurs. The Alberta Women Entrepreneurs opened in November 1995 and has responded to over 108,000 inquiries for business information and support and has loaned over $8 million dollars to Alberta women starting or expanding a small business.

Western Economic Diversification Canada maintains a webpage with information and links to Financing and Funding for Business including special programs for Entrepreneurs with Disabilities, Micro Loans for Small Business, business loans for Knowledge and Growth, growth capital for Traditional BC businesses, as well as a Conservation Finance program for businesses located in B.C.
