Navigo Broadband, a wireless Internet service Provider (WISP) in the Yukon, has developed what it's calling the Canadian north's first WiMax implementation.
Navigo Broadband recently launched its new high-speed wireless broadband Internet services in Whitehorse. The service is being offered to residential and small business customers through the use of the new broadband wireless technology standard, WiMax, which enables customers to connect to the Internet from home, work and many places in between, Navigo describes. WiMax should become the new standard because mobile computing is coming into its own and mobility without connectivity is not true mobility without being able to just open up your laptop and connect without a bunch of hassles.
